Mission Point Kids Volunteer Team Job Descriptions


All volunteers must complete a volunteer application, background check and interview with the Children's Director. Volunteers must demonstrate an active relationship with Jesus and a want to teach Mission Point Kids how to glorify God in all they do.


Baby Room Team

Serve once a month in the nursery room, specifically with our infants and non-movers. Responsibilities include engaging our babies in faith activities, assisting with snack time, and helping our babies learn that church is a fun and safe place. Responsibilities will include: changing diapers, preparing bottles/ snacks and feeding babies safely, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.


Baby Room - Team Leader

Serve once a month in the nursery room, specifically with our infants and non-movers. Responsibilities include engaging our babies in faith activities, assisting with snack time, and helping our babies learn that church is a fun and safe place. You will also be changing diapers, preparing bottles/ snacks and feeding babies safely, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities as Lead Volunteer will include: Prepare your team: make sure there is a book, song and / or video chosen for Sunday morning. Help plan and execute baby room needs for special events. Assist with volunteer morale and communicating MPK Vision. Must be 18 years or older.


Toddler / PreK -Team Leader

Serve once a month in the toddler / preschool classroom as the Lesson Leader.

Responsibilities as Team Leader include: creating and executing curriculum, maintaining a safe and clean classroom, report any supply needs to Director, casting and executing MPK Vision, assist with building team morale and acting as overall leader. Preparation includes previewing the lesson in its entirety prior to Sunday morning, purchasing and setting up supplies for lesson. Must be 21 years or older.


Toddler / PreK Team - Small Group Volunteers

Serve once a month in the toddler or preschool classroom. Responsibilities include assisting with craft, snack, and bathroom breaks, and engaging with our preschoolers as they discover more about God. Preparation includes previewing the craft and activities prior to Sunday morning. Must be 4th grade or older.


Toddler / PreK Lesson Leaders

Serve once a month in the Toddler / PreK class.

Responsibilities include: preparing a lesson for Rally Time under the direction of your Team leader, acquiring all special supplies needed for lesson or communicating your needs to your Team leader in a timely fashion, being the Rally Time Host, executing Rally Time lesson on Sunday morning, crowd control, encouraging participation during worship and the Bible lesson, and assisting a specific small group through small group time/station rotations. Preparation includes previewing the lesson and previewing the small group instructions prior to Sunday morning. Must be 8th grade or older.

Mission Point Kids K-5th grade: Small Group Leaders

Serve once a month in Mission Point Kids: K-5th grade classes. Classes are split K-2nd and 3rd-5th.

Responsibilities include: Floor management and leading your radius during Rally Time, encouraging participation during worship and the Bible lesson by leading by example, and leading a specific small group through small group time/station rotations. Be available to be the Rally Host or Tech Team during Rally Time. These volunteers serve with the same age group/small group each month. Preparation includes previewing the overview and small group instructions prior to Sunday morning. Must be 10th grade or older.


Mission Point Kids K-5th grade: Lesson Leaders

Serve once a month in the Mission Point Kids: K-5th grade classes. Classes are split K-2nd & 3rd-5th.

Must be 21 yrs. old or older.


Preteen / Teen Team Helpers

Serve once a month in our Baby, Toddler, PreK classes.

Responsibilities include: helping teachers by encouraging students to worship, be good listeners during lessons, leading them in games and activities, and helping with preparing supplies, taking students for bathroom breaks, and teaching our Mission Point Kids how to glorify God in all they do. Students must be in 3rd grade or older, be in good standing with their teachers / leaders, and have an active relationship with Jesus.


Craft Team Leaders

Serve once a month in our Mission Point Kids: K-5th grade classes.

Responsibilities include: creating a craft to go with lesson theme, purchase supplies needed or communicating needs to Director in a timely fashion. Leading the craft section of lesson with the help of small group leaders.

During class time you will also be helping teachers by encouraging students to worship, be good listeners during lessons, leading them in games and activities, and helping with preparing supplies, and taking students for bathroom breaks. 


Tech Team Helpers

Serve once/ twice a month in our Toddler, PreK and K-5th grade classes prior and during service.

Responsibilities include: setting up needed tech for Sunday‚Äôs program prior to class starting, helping teachers by teaching and assisting with tech during Sunday lessons, maintaining equipment and reporting all broken or missing tech supplies to the Director or Team Leader. Maintaining a clean and safe environment in the classes. Helping with special programs.


Special Event Team Helpers

Serve prior and / or during special event.

Responsibilities include: Help plan and execute special events such as Christmas program, Easter Egg Hunt, Service Projects, Community Outreach Programs. This is a short and specific time to serve. Duties and responsibilities will be explained and assigned during / prior to event and will be event specific.
