KELLY HUTCHINS

DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

My Role:

I began a new journey as the Director of Children’s Ministry mid-May of 2025! I am passionate about helping little one’s grow their faith, and on a mission to make church the best part of every kid’s week! I get the honor and privilege to lead an amazing team of volunteers to teach and train our kiddos (baby through 5th grade) to know, love and honor God with full hearts, contagious joy, and a whole lot of fun!

My Story:

I came to know Jesus at a young age. As a child, I accepted Him into my heart with a simple, trusting faith. I grew up hearing about His love, and it shaped the foundation of who I was. But as I entered adolescence, life became more complicated. I went through a difficult and confusing season that left me scared and questioning everything I had once believed.

The more confused I became, the more alone I felt. I started to believe that I had to grow up quickly and handle everything on my own. That mindset led me to become fiercely independent—strong on the outside, but quietly struggling on the inside. I distanced myself from my faith, not out of rejection, but out of uncertainty and a desire to find my own way.

But right out of high school, something stirred in my heart. One Sunday morning, I felt a quiet but persistent tug to walk back into church. So I did—alone. That morning, something shifted. As I sat there, years of pent-up hurt and confusion began to melt away. I was reminded of the core truths I had known as a child. It was as if God gently whispered, “I never left you.”

That moment began a deeply personal journey of rediscovering Jesus—not just as a Savior I had heard about growing up, but as a living, present Lord I could walk with daily. I began to know Him on a whole new level.

I went on to become the first in my family to graduate from college, earning my degree from Stockton University. I stepped into a career that gave me 15 years of experience—but over time, I began to feel a deep emptiness. I had climbed the ladder and reached milestones, but something was missing. As Yogi Berra once said, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it.” So I did—without knowing exactly where it would lead.

For years, I had been praying for God to place me in a position where I could use my gifts for His glory, and to draw my family closer to Him. Little did I know, that prayer would begin to unfold as I said goodbye to one career and stepped into something entirely new—something filled with uncertainty, but also with possibility and purpose.

This is still my journey. But I now walk it with a renewed sense of identity, a deeper relationship with Christ, and a hope that continues to grow as I follow His lead—one step at a time.

Passions:

I’m passionate about a few of life’s best things: my amazing family—especially my two wild and curious young sons—anything creative, and the great outdoors. Whether we’re building forts, exploring nature trails, or making art from found treasures, adventure is always just around the corner. I’m also a big fan of getting lost in a good book—or in my own writing. With fresh air, imagination, and a lotta love, life is never boring!
